Was the war of liberation worth it?
During the war people were one,
United for one cause: liberation,
Supporting the fighters with their lives,
Women, men, girls and boys,
No one was left behind.
Everyone wanted Freedom and Happiness,
44 years on is there any happiness?
44 years on is there any freedom?
44 years on what has changed?
Human rights have been removed,
Poverty has increased,
Corruption has been formalised,
Nepotism has been sanitised.
Harare the sunshine city is no more,
Bulawayo city of kings industries are gone,
Gweru midlands capital is a shadow of itself,
Masvingo the historical city is no more.
Zimbabwe the jewel of Africa is no more,
Zimbabwe the breadbasket of Africa is buried,
Zimbabwe the best education hub of Southern Africa is gone,
Zimbabwe has the worst economy in Southern Africa.
44 years of retardation,
44 years of tyranny,
44 years of corruption,
44 years of thieves grouping and regrouping,
44 years of no rule of law,
44 years of draconian rule,
44 years of abductions and torture,
44 years of destruction.
What has independence brought?
Zimbabwean citizens have migrated,
All over the world, why?
Educated Zimbabweans are developing other countries, why?
Cry my beloveth country,
Cry my country men and women,
Cry the children of Zimbabwe,
Zimbabwe is at a point of no return,
Zimbabwe (Zanu PF) now 'boast' of a Zig currenc,y which is valueless only trading within its borders,
What a shame,
What a curse,
The tunnel is too dark no sign of any light,
How long will it take for Zimbabwe to bounce back?
44 years is a lifetime many will never live to see the bounce back it is sad.
